CBS: Continuing Its Dominance

Because of the Writers’ Strike, FOX was last season’s most watched network, ending CBS’s run.

I hope that FOX enjoyed its time at the top because I don’t think it will happen again this year as CBS has put together a pretty strong schedule.

CBS will debut five new shows: “Worst Week,” “The Mentalist,” “Gary Unmarried,” “The Ex List,” and “Eleventh Hour.”

“Week,” which will premiere Monday, September 22nd at 9:30 p.m., is a comedy about a man who just keeps screwing things up with his fiancé’s parents. Trust me, it’s WAY funnier than it sounds…

“The Mentalist,” which will premiere Tuesday, September 23rd at 9 p.m., stars Simon Baker as a former fake psychic (or was he a fake?) that helps the police solve crimes…

“Gary Unmarried,” which will premiere Wednesday, September 24th at 8:30 p.m., is a comedy starring Jay Mohr as a newly divorced man struggling to adjust to his new life. And yes, I’ll preview it later this week…

“The Ex List,” which will premiere Friday, October 3rd at 9 p.m., stars Elizabeth Reaser (“Grey’s Anatomy”) as a woman who’s been told by a psychic that she’s already met the man she’s supposed to marry…

“Eleventh Hour,” which will premiere Thursday, October 9th at 10 p.m., is the new drama from Jerry Bruckheimer. It’s based on a British series and centers on a biophysicist and a FBI agent who investigate strange occurrences.

I will have reviews of all of them in the next few days, except for “Eleventh Hour,” which has not yet been made available to the media…

Here’s the rest of CBS’s premiere schedule. Shows in bold are those I will have reviews of in the next several days…

Monday, September 22nd, it’s the season premiere of the Monday comedy block with “The Big Bang Theory” (8 p.m.), “How I Met Your Mother” (8:30 p.m.), and “Two and a Half Men” (9 p.m.). The comedies are followed by the season premiere of “CSI: Miami” at 10 p.m…

Tuesday, September 23rd, it’s the return of “NCIS” at 8 p.m. “Without a Trace” premieres on its new night at 10 p.m…

Wednesday, September 24th, CBS tries a second comedy night as “The New Adventures of Old Christine” moves to a new night (8 p.m.). “Criminal Minds” returns at 9 p.m., followed by the season premiere of “CSI: NY” at 10 p.m…

Thursday, September 25th, it’s the two-hour premiere of the 17th edition of “Survivor,” “Survivor: Gabon” at 8 p.m…

Saturday, September 27th, it’s the season premiere of “48 Hours Mystery” at 10 p.m…

Sunday, September 28th, it’s the 41st season premiere of “60 Minutes” at 7 p.m., followed by the premiere of the 13th edition of “The Amazing Race” (8 p.m.), and the season premiere of “Cold Case” (9 p.m.) and “The Unit” (10 p.m.)…

Friday, October 3rd, it’s the return of “Ghost Whisperer” (8 p.m.) and “Numb3rs” (10 p.m.)…

Thursday, October 9th, CBS wraps up its fall premieres with the return of “CSI” at 9 p.m…
